The UFC pulled a fast one on us in September, not scheduling any pay-per-view fight cards. However, they are making up for it in October, with two ‘numbered events’ for us. And it starts this Saturday with UFC 320 in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. For my MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC 320, I’m going with the live dog in the main event. Let’s get it on, c’mon!

MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC 320
UFC 320: Ankalaev vs Pereira 2
Start Time: 6:00 PM EST – (PPV/ESPN+)
I originally was in on the Magomed Ankalaev side in this UFC Light Heavyweight Championship rematch against Alex Pereira, because the winner of the first fight tends to win the second, especially in the case of immediate rematches like this one (they first fought at UFC 313 in March). But in the end, the +233 number for Pereira was too tempting to pass up.
I could understand that number if the first fight was a blowout for Ankalaev, but it wasn’t – it was a very close fight. In the end, Pereira’s just too dangerous a fighter, and seemingly motivated for the rematch and to reclaim his belt, for Ankalaev to survive in the cage with for another 25 minutes.
