The game of the week for Week 2 of the NFL kicks off at 4:25 PM ET on Fox. It’s a rematch of Super Bowl LIX in February that saw the Philadelphia Eagles curb-stomp the Kansas City Chiefs. Now all eyes will once again be on the two teams as they square off at Arrowhead Sunday afternoon. This game has a little bit of everything in it. Let’s preview and try to predict the Eagles at the Chiefs.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ season began like it ended last year, with a tough loss. They traveled down to Brazil to face their division rival, the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers jumped up early, and Kansas City kept pace, but couldn’t get over the hump. With Rashee Rice serving his suspension, the Chiefs also lost receiver Xavier Worthy, who is listed as doubtful for this game, and Jalen Royals, who has already been ruled out.
Philadelphia also picked up right where they left off, putting a W in the win column. It wasn’t an easy one as they raised their second Super Bowl win banner. NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys gave them all they could handle, but Jalen Hurts and company took care of business. It wasn’t without its own casualties, as the Eagles will be missing tight end Dallas Goedert this week as well as tackle Cameron Thomas.

Philadelphia Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs Preview and Predictions
DeVonta Smith Over 63.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Smith and his running mate, AJ Brown, were quiet in Week 1, simply because the Eagles didn’t need them. That won’t be the case in Week 2. I’d also expect the Eagles to come out of the gate swinging in Week 2. Smith had a nice 69 yards against the Chiefs in the Super Bowl back in February.
Smith is a big-time weapon. In two of the last three games of the 2024 season, he went over 100 yards, and he broke 64 yards in nine games last year. Philadelphia will get up for this game, and like the Super Bowl, Smith will be a big part of that.
Eagles -1 (-110)
The last time the Kansas City Chiefs were an underdog at home was back in Week 6 of 2022 against the Buffalo Bills. The Bills were victorious in that game, and I think the Eagles will be in this one as well. Kansas City really tripped over itself both literally and figuratively last week in Brazil. You go through all that travel just to lose, and now face the team that beat you down in the Super Bowl.
There is a revenge factor, yes, but I don’t think it’s enough. Philadelphia is clearly the better team, as evidenced by the Super Bowl. This won’t be the blowout that was, but the Eagles walk out of Kansas City with a win, and the internet goes crazy over the 0-2 Kansas City Chiefs.
