It’s been a rough return from injury for New York Mets’ lefty Sean Manaea, as he has not been sharp in his seven starts this season. However, he has a track record of being much better than this, and the Washington Nationals are really crummy.
In fact, heading into action on Wednesday night, the Mets had outscored the Nationals 27-6 in their last two meetings, with both of those games taking place in Nationals Park. Nasty.
Washington is not just the second-worst team in the majors based on advanced stats, only better than the Colorado Rockies, but they are also the second-worst team at home, with a 24-39 record.
I expect the Mets to get the win tomorrow and win the season series, whether Manaea pitches well or not.
