1. All He Does Is Win
The 49ers came into LA on Sunday and really took care of business fairly easily. In what was considered by many to be a “home run spot” situationally for the Rams who not only desperately needed a win to right the ship, but had the added benefit of having four extra days of rest and prep. Not to mention the fact that San Fran had one less day of prep than normal as they played on Monday night. The Rams offensive line has its problems and the 49ers had no issue exposing that on Sunday with their talented defense. Jared Goff had only 27 passing yards with just twelve minutes remaining in the game. The entire Rams offense never seemed to be able to get into a groove as they went 0-9 on third down and 0-4 on fourth down. The 49ers have yet to allow more than 20 points in a single game on the season. This 5-0 San Fran team still has Arizona twice and Washington on their schedule, this team is really starting to feel like a Super Bowl contender.
Gonna be posting these throughout the day but..

2. Watson Out-Duels Maholmes
The Texans did not do themselves any favors in terms of the start that they got off to Sunday afternoon in Arrowhead. Carlos Hyde lost a fumble, the defense was not tackling well and on a free play caused by an offsides Maholmes found Tyreek Hill for a looong touchdown pass. It looked as though the Chiefs were well on their way to rebounding at home in resounding fashion but to echo Lee Corso, “Not so fast my friend.” As Deshaun Watson was able to find his favorite weapon DeAndre Hopkins often as the stud wideout brought in NINE receptions for 55 yards. Carlos Hyde was also able to bounce back after his early mistake and have himself a day, rushing for 116 yards on 26 carries and hauled in a fourteen yard reception himself. In yet another performance at home the Chiefs will have to head to Mile High on a short week as they play the Broncos in Denver on Thursday Night Football. This is a big game for this Kansas City team as they look to get back to their winning ways.

3. Lamar Chasing Vick
The Ravens young QB Lamar Jackson has certainly turned some heads this season, and for good reason. The former Louisville Cardinal had himself a day on Sunday against the Bengals rushing for 152 yards on 19 carries and throwing for 236. Lamar became the first QB in NFL history to throw for 200+ and rush for 150+ in a single game. I really think Lamar has the chance to be the type of player that Vick was bet never fully got to be if that makes sense. Maybe it’s too early to be making these comparisons, the Ravens need to prove they can do this against a stiffer set of competition than they have thus far and only time will tell if Lamar can maintain this workload week in and week out.

4. Fish Almost Net First Win
Stop me if you’ve heard this before, it’s late in the fourth quarter and your team is banking on a Ryan Fitzpatrick touchdown drive. Well this was the scenario on late in the game between the winless pair of Redskins and Dolphins in Miami on Sunday afternoon. After benching Josh Rosen, Ryan Fitzpatrick led a late scoring drive to bring the Dolphins within a point of their first win of the season. Naturally, head coach Brian Flores elects to go for two and the playcall left much to be desired. Fitzpatrick took one step back and fired a short pass at the line of scrimmage which was caught and promptly stopped at the line effectively ending the game. It was easily the closest Miami had gotten to their first victory of the season, in fact it was the first touchdown the Dolphins managed in the 2nd half of a game all season. Perhaps its for the best they did not win this one as it appears as though the #TankForTua is in full swing.

5. LA Football Is Down
It was far from a good week for LA football teams and their fans. It started with a game we talked about earlier in which the Rams folded at home against the fierce looking defense of the San Francisco 49ers. This was a game the Rams REALLY needed and course you want to win your division games. They were flat out terrible offensively on Sunday and credit to San Fran defensively, but the numbers were absolutely putrid for the weapons which the Rams feature. The Rams have an uphill battle facing them now as the Seahawks also pulled off a great road win Sunday against the Browns who did their part to give that game away if we are being totally honest.
The Chargers also did not have a successful Sunday in a game they really could have used themselves. The Steelers came in with third string quarterback Devlin Hodges and simply outplayed the Chargers in what they call their home stadium for much of the first half. Before they knew it the Chargers were down 21-0 and things looked very bleak. In typical Phillip Rivers fashion the Chargers were able to make this one a game but it never really felt as close as the 24-17 final score indicates.
