Best Bet For Saturday (July 19th): UFC Predictions
UFC 318: Holloway vs Poirier 3
Start Time: Saturday – 6:00 PM EST – (ESPN2/ESPN/PPV)
UFC 318 is a relatively weak offering, at least on paper, for a pay-per-view event. And to make matters worse, there aren’t a ton of good lines to get in on. But there are a few, including one for a welterweight fight on the prelims.
That fight would be between Argentinian Francisco Prado and Kazakhstani Nikolay Veretennikov. Both guys have dropped back-to-back fights, so a win may be necessary to save their jobs in the UFC. And I’m thinking Veretennikov will be the one packing his bags.
Prado is 13 years younger than Veretennikov and is a finisher, with all 12 of his pro wins coming inside the distance (six knockouts, six submissions). This also shows how well-rounded and dangerous he is, with the ability to end a fight on the feet or the mat. I think he outclasses the Kazakhstani wherever this fight takes place on Saturday.
