While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. So we’ve decided to dig into some each week to get you started on your regional MMA journey. This week we head to overseas for KSW 108 from Olsztyn, Poland for our regional MMA pick.

MMA Regional Pick of the Week: KSW 108
KSW Heavyweight Fight: Matheus Scheffel vs Michal Martínek
Card Start Time: Saturday (7/19), 9:00am EST (Internet PPV)
In this fight, we get a pair of heavyweights who have not had the best fortune as of late. Scheffel comes into this one, loser of four of his last six – each of which was by knockout. Similarly, Martinek has lost four of his last six and has been KO’d in three of those four losses.
With each of them entering the fight with a record that has mostly knockouts on it, we know that they are going to slug it out until one of them can’t stand anymore. Knowing that it’ll be that kind of fight, I like Scheffel. The main reason is that he’s much more composed on the feet. Depsite being caught with some strikes, he takes his time and keeps his guard up. Martinek is much more reckless and more likely to slip up.
My guess is that it’ll only take one mistake for this fight to end. With the way he comes out early, I expect Martinek to be the more likely to make said mistake.
