Underdog Fantasy – DFS Picks for July 14
Junior Caminero – Higher than 4.5 Rd1 Finishing Position
Caminero is the guy in the Home Run Derby that everybody is counting out. He’s spent the least amount of time in the majors aside from James Woods – and comes in with quite a bit less fan fare than him. As a result, nobody really expects him to get out of the first round Monday. However, I think he has a great approach and is going to surprise some people. His home run spray chart is far more varied than the rest of the field and I think that could really help him in Atlanta.
Veronica Burton – Higher than 9.5 Points
On Saturday, we noted the increased scoring numbers for Burton. She was projected at this same 9.5 points, but had been sticking in the double figures constantly. She now has scored higher than this mark in each of her last three games and in four of her last five. She’s averaging 10.8 in that span. The Mercury may have a solid record, but they are still allowing just short of 80 points per game. That should be enough for Burton to find ten.
Dylan Harper – Higher than 14.5 Points
It’s not always easy to look at player projections for NBA Summer League. With that being said, Dylan Harper got his first run of the summer and showed me everything I need to think this number is child’s play. His first run with the Spurs saw him score 16 points and largely on a bad shooting day. He went 5-of-12 from the field, which included missing all four three-pointers that he took. The Spurs clearly want to get him going, and with a bit of the rust off he should be putting up a much better number.
