Apparently, there’s a UFC pay-per-view this coming Saturday. I say “apparently” because it’s being advertised as a big deal PPV, but that gets put into question when you look at the actual fight lineup. No title fights (unless you fall for the BMF Title nonsense). Not even a #1 contender fight. But will we still make money off the fights? Damn right. For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC 318, we’re hitting up the co-main event (if it actually happens). Let’s go!

MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC 318
UFC 318: Holloway vs Poirier 3
Main Card Start Time: Saturday – 10:00 PM EST – (PPV)
Here’s that word again – “apparently” Paulo Costa is scheduled to fight on Saturday night. Well, he being scheduled to fight is a true statement. Whether he actually shows up and fights, well, that is questionable.
Since 2021, Costa has fought four times, going 1-3. During that same time, he’s been involved in six other fights that were either cancelled or postponed. So I’m justifiably sceptical about him fighting Roman Kopylov on Saturday.
But if the fight does take place, Kopylov should roll. Costa peaked about five years ago, while Kopylov has won back-to-back fights and six of seven. The Russian is the better striker, the more powerful striker, and a much better grappler.
