MMA Regional Pick of the Week: LFA 212
LFA Middleweight Fight: Diego Dias vs Claudio Ribeiro
Card Start Time: Friday (7/11), 5:00pm EST (UFC Fight Pass)
My favorite regional spot of the week comes as the opener to the main card of LFA 212. A UFC veteran steps in on short notice and I think his former status is all that’s keeping this line close.
Not only is Claudio Ribeiro coming into this fight with little prep, but he also has a terrible stylistic matchup in this fight. During his stint in the UFC, he struggled with anyone with decent wrestling and seemed like he was just looking for a boxing match. He didn’t get that in three of the four fights and was released from the promotion.
He won’t get that style of fight yet again with Dias. Dias is known for his solid top pressure and technical takedowns. He has quick entries and a diverse set of takedowns. Expect him to get this to the floor as soon as possible and likely get the finish.
