I continue to strike out on the diamond with my daily prop bets (what a pun), so I’m doing a complete 180 for tomorrow’s (winning) prop play. I’m leaving the fairly civilized confines of the ballpark, and I’m climbing into the UFC octagon (not really – I’ll be watching from home). UFC 317: Topuria vs Oliveira
Start Time: 6:30 PM EST – (PPV/ESPN/ESPN+)
If it lasts long enough, Saturday’s prelim fight between lightweights Terrance McKinney and Viacheslav Borshchev should be the leading contender for Fight of the Night. But, the chances of it being a drawn-out affair are slim and none.
That’s because McKinney has never gone the distance in 23 pro fights – 16 finishes for him, and he’s been stopped seven times. And I’m picking ‘T-Wrecks’ to beat ‘Slava Claus’ tomorrow night.
While McKinney would be wise to use his underrated wrestling and grappling to get Borshchev to the mat and finish him there, he’s been much more interested in slugging it out on the feet. And in a slugfest, I like McKinney’s power over Borshchev’s, despite the latter never being knocked out in his pro career (yet).
