The NFL season is quickly approaching! Mandatory Mini Camps are here, and the Hall-of-Fame game between the Houston Texans and Chicago Bears takes place at the end of next month. We’re taking a look at all 32 NFL teams and our best bets for each prior to the 2025 season kicking off. The Detroit Lions are up next, so let’s take a look at this edition of the 2025 NFL Best Bets: Detroit Lions.
Dan Campbell is back for his fourth season as the Head Coach of the Lions. Jared Goff and his cast of superstar skill position players are all back to make another go of it after the Lions lost in the Divisional round to the Washington Commanders in last year’s playoffs. They addressed defense heavily in free agency as well as selecting Defensive Tackle Tyleik Williams in the first round of the NFL Draft.
2025 NFL Best Bets: Detroit Lions
Sam LaPorta Over 650.5 Receiving Yards (-110)
This number is a bit puzzling. LaPorta easily surpassed this number in each of his first two seasons in the NFL. Yes, Ben Johnson is gone, but this offense isn’t going to slow down much, if at all. LaPorta is a great Tight End.
Jahmyr Gibbs Over 1075.5 Rushing Yards (-110)
This is where the Offensive Coordinator may make a bigger difference, and for the good. A new play caller may lean heavier on the stud running back. Either way, he ran for over 1,400 yards last season, and I’d expect a similar pace this year.

Lions to Win NFC North (+135)
This was the most competitive division last year, but it seems more in the Lions’ favor this year. The Vikings are going to JJ McCarthy, which leaves a lot of questions open. The Packers will be a good team, but aren’t they built to be great, is the question. The Chicago Bears should be on an upward trajectory, but their ceiling hardly matches the Lions!
