We’re being treated to two UFC pay-per-views this month, with UFC 317 going down this Saturday night in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. With a vacant title up for grabs in the main event, we’re guaranteed to see at least one new champion crowned this weekend. For my MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC 317, I’ve zeroed in on a fight between two bright young prospects. Let’s get it on, c’mon!

MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC 317
UFC 317: Topuria vs Oliveira
Start Time: 6:30 PM EST – (PPV/ESPN/ESPN+)
It didn’t seem likely we’d see bantamweight Payton Talbott as an underdog anytime soon, as he had plowed through his first nine professional opponents. Then he dropped his last fight as a -1150 favorite, and here we are.
However, that loss was against a crafty veteran in Raoni Barcelos, a defeat that has aged well, as Barcelos went on to win again a couple of weeks ago. And Talbott’s opponent on Saturday, Felipe Lima, is a young fighter like himself.
Both of these guys are bright prospects at 135 pounds. This fight is more of a pick ’em in my eyes, so the value is definitely on the Talbott side of the betting line.
