What an epic Stanley Cup Finals we’ve had this season, and we’re only two games into it. Two overtime games, with Game 2 needing two extra periods to decide it, and a knotted series at 1-1. Best Bet For Monday (June 9th): NHL Predictions
Edmonton Oilers vs Florida Panthers
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
After a back-to-back battle in Game 2, the Florida Panthers left Edmonton’s Rogers Place victorious after 88 minutes of grueling action. They’ve now wrestled the home ice advantage away from the Oilers as we’re down to a best-of-five series.
But is home ice advantage in the playoffs necessarily a positive for the Panthers? They are only 4-3 at Amerant Bank Arena this postseason run, and have lost two of their last three games in front of their faithful fans. The road has been much more accommodating for them, as they’ve won nine of 12.
And the Oilers have played very strongly away from home on their way to the Stanley Cup Finals, going 6-3 away from Edmonton, winning their last two road games and six of the last seven.
In a series as close as this one has been, one in which home ice doesn’t seem like it’s going to make much of a difference in the results, I’ll go with the plus money bet. Edmonton on the moneyline is my best bet for Monday.
