Perhaps my introduction was a bit misleading, because while I’m technically betting against the Edmonton Oilers’ Connor McDavid, I’m not necessarily betting against him dominating Game 1 against the Florida Panthers tomorrow night. I’m picking the Oilers to win at least the first game of the series, and they’ll need McDavid firing on all cylinders to do that.
However, I’m betting that firing on all cylinders doesn’t equal firing the puck at the net frequently for McDavid. His shots on goal over/under for Wednesday is set at 3.5, and I’m taking the under. McDavid has only two total shots on net in the two games the Oilers faced the Panthers this season, has been under four shots on net in three straight games, and Florida is one of the best teams at keeping the puck away from their goal.
