It’s almost felt like the lead-up to the Super Bowl with all the downtime before the start of this year’s Stanley Cup Finals, but the wait is finally over. And it’s deja vu all over again. Best Bet For Wednesday (June 4th): NHL Predictions
Florida Panthers vs Edmonton Oilers
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
After hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of NHL regular season and playoff hockey games, we’ve come to the same result as last season – the Florida Panthers will face the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Finals.
The one difference this year – and it could be a crucial one – is that the Oilers will have the home ice advantage. That would have come in handy last year in Game 7 when the Panthers edged them in Florida to hoist the Cup.
The Oilers have been almost untouchable in Edmonton this playoff run, going 6-1, with a one-goal loss to the Vegas Golden Knights their only blemish. Not to be outdone, the Panthers are 8-2 away from Sunrise, Florida, this postseason.
There really isn’t much to separate these two squads, but with Edmonton having the home ice for Game 1 plus the two best players in the series in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, I’ll take the Oilers on the moneyline for my best bet for Wednesday.
