While three of the four conference finalists in the NBA Playoffs are a bit of a surprise, the ultimate winner of it all next month appears to be very chalky. The league’s best team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, is currently an 85% favorite to win the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy. Here are your NBA predictions and preview for Saturday, May 24th.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Minnesota Timberwolves

Start Time – 8:30 PM EST

The Western Conference Finals series shifts to Minneapolis’ Target Center for Game 3, with the home team Minnesota Timberwolves playing in what basically amounts to a must-win game. You do not want to go down 3-0 in a series, especially against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

But even if the Wolves manage to win tomorrow (they won’t), I don’t think it’ll change the ultimate outcome of the series. The Thunder are too talented, too deep, too poised to blow this. The real question is whether or not Minnesota will even manage to cover a spread in this series.

OKC has won by 26 and 15 points in the first two games against Minny, and remember, I’m back on my “the Thunder always cover” betting strategy. My line for Game 3 is Oklahoma City -5, which is probably being too conservative and too kind to the Wolves. OKC covers for us, regardless, because the Thunder always cover.
