While this year’s NHL Eastern Conference Finals is a rematch of 2023’s edition, the Western Conference Finals is a rerun from last season. Best Bet For Wednesday (May 21st): NHL Predictions
Edmonton Oilers vs Dallas Stars
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
Last year the Edmonton Oilers beat the Dallas Stars in six games to punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals. This despite Dallas having home ice advantage in the series – the Oilers ended up winning two out of three at the American Airlines Center.
Not much has changed a year later, as both teams were among the best in the NHL during the regular season, and the Stars have the home ice advantage once again. Now, to avoid losing in their third straight Western Conference Finals, the Stars have to win some games in Dallas.
And I think they will tomorrow. After being a strong home team during the regular season, they’ve upped the ante in the playoffs, going 6-1 at their home rink. Plus, in the postseason, you can often boil it all down to which team has the hottest goalie. I have more faith in Dallas’ Jake Oettinger than Edmonton’s Stuart Skinner, who is filling in for the injured Calvin Pickard.
Dallas on the moneyline at home is my best bet for Wednesday.
