Prelim Pick of the Week: Road to UFC
Road to UFC Bantamweight Fight: Sim Kai Xiong vs Kuya Ito
Start Time: Friday (5/23) 7:00am EST (UFC Fight Pass)
Sim Kai Xiong makes his way back to Road to UFC after being knocked out by a wild flying knee in a previous iteration. I believe that his KO loss at the hands of Peter Danesoe will make him a huge value here, as people write off his previous efforts.
Writing off his skill would be crazy, especially being that he’s one of the only fighters with a win over a UFC in this tournament. That win over Chang Ho Lee on BRAVE CF 56 showed that he can stuff takedowns fairly easy. That’ll come in handy here against Ito.
Ito has bagged 13 of his 17 victories via decision. Plenty of that comes from using his wrestling. If that gets stuffed, as I believe it will, I think Ito will get tagged badly on the feet by Xiong.
