Chicago Cubs vs Miami Marlins

After making the playoffs in 2023, the Miami Marlins lost 100 games last season. Currently sitting at 17-27 this year, they are on pace to hit the century mark in losses once again. And things don’t look to get much better tomorrow, with the 28-19 Chicago Cubs coming to town.
The Cubs are not just the top team in the National League’s Central division, but advanced stats have them ranked as the second-best team in the major leagues, behind the New York Yankees and tied with the Detroit Tigers. The Marlins, meanwhile, are 27th out of 30 teams.
Crunching all the advanced numbers, I have the Tigers as a three-run favorite tomorrow as they open their series in Miami. But considering they’ve only beaten Miami by multiple runs once in their three meetings this season, I’ll play it safe and just make Chicago on the moneyline my best bet for Monday instead of taking the run line.
