Lock Selection: Dolphins
What a game it was for Miami on Monday Night Football a few days ago. It is clear and obvious that they are a different team with Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback. Say what you would like about Tua, but he is much better than a replacement-level QB. The Miami defense was also a revelation on Monday night. A defense known for being soft looked anything but against Matthew Stafford, Cooper Cupp, Puka Nacua, and the Rams’ prolific offense.
The Raiders are a dead team. They don’t have much going on offense following the trade of Davante Adams. Not much scares you on this Vegas team outside of their defensive line. I also wonder if we could be watching Antonio Pierce’s last games as the coach of this squad. He’s been downright awful this season and seems in over his head.
Miami desperately needs to get Tyreek Hill going, and I think this is a game in which it’ll happen. Miami in a route.
Contrarian Selection: Rams
The Rams were on the other side of that great Miami performance we just referenced. LA’s offense was simply not good enough, as they couldn’t get the ball in the endzone, which is not a good recipe for success in the NFL. The Rams are desperate for a win as they currently sit in third place in the NFC West at 4-5. The division is still there for the taking, as the Cardinals and Niners haven’t exactly run away with it.
The Patriots quite literally are in the opposite situation. They aren’t playing for much and are coming off an excellent team performance against the Bears. I think this is a huge letdown spot for the Patriots. The Rams take care of business in this spot.
