Underdog Fantasy College Basketball Picks For December 19th
Underdog Pick Em Record (Est 12/1/2023)
All Pick Em Selections: 20-12-2 (62.5%)
Spicy Multiplier Picks: 1-0 (100%)
Perfect 3-0 Pick Em Entries: 1-10 (-1 unit)
Bryce Hopkins (Providence) Lower Than 18.5 Points
Marquette at Providence is a fire Big East conference play opener. Bryce Hopkins is the Friars’ No. 1 scoring option; however, he has not scored more than 18.5 points against a high major so far this season.
In fact, Hopkins has only eclipsed 18.5 points four times through Providence’s first 11 games. Hopkins has averaged just 13.25 points against the four high major opponents PC has faced so far this season.
Mitchell Saxen (Saint Mary’s) Lower Than 9 Rebounds
Saint Mary’s is a 14.5-point home favorite against Middle Tennessee. This was a triple lock on today’s TCE episode, as we think the Gaels will pull away from the Blue Raiders. Mitchell Saxen’s rebounds projection is set at 9 which seems high to begin with.
Add in the fact that he may not play his typical 27.8 minutes per game. Saxen’s lower than 9 rebounds is 7-4 this season and 7-2 against mid major opponents.
Riley Kugel (Florida) Higher Than 12.5 Points
There have been too many negatives in this entry so far let’s add a positive. I’m taking you to the “Noah Bieniek Bowl” as I am a large fan of both Michigan and Florida. The Gators are 3-point favorites, with a total of 156.5 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The gigantic flaw on Michigan’s roster is that they don’t have a second wing/small forward. Terrence Williams, Will Tschetter, and Tray Jackson all split time at the position, and all three of them are the three worst defenders via EvanMiya’s DBPR.
Riley Kugel is a big game hunter for Florida. His best games come on the big stage against prominent opponents. Kugel averages 15.6 PPG against high majors and just 9.2 PPG against mid-majors. I think that Kugel continues his breakout toward mainstream stardom for the Gators on Tuesday night on the four-letter network.
