College Football Pick Of The Day (November 4th): NCAA Week 10 Spread Pick
For today’s college football Week 10 pick of the day, I’m looking at a Friday night Big Ten matchup with bowl eligibility on the line for both teams. Nebraska is 5-3 and heads to Champaign to face off against 5-3 Illinois at Gies Memorial Stadium.
The Huskers opened 5-0 for the first time since 2016 before dropping three straight games. Their defense remains solid, allowing 15.6 points per game. However, their offense has started to go quiet.
Illinois has been a bit of the opposite. After an early rough patch, Bret Bielema’s group has won three in a row, including a home win over Oregon and a 20-17 road win over Maryland. The Illini offense averages 29 points per game and has a balanced attack.
Nebraska leads this all-time series, but Illinois took the most recent meeting in overtime in Lincoln in 2024. Nebraska’s defense is legitimate. However, the offense hasn’t been consistent enough, especially on the road, to be asked to cover more than a field goal right in the middle of a three-game losing streak. Illinois, at home, riding momentum, has already shown it can hang with quality Big Ten Teams.
This is November! These games often come down to a possession or a field goal, and the Illini have been the better side the past three weeks.
The Pick: Illinois +4.5
