Another great weekend of College Football is here! It’s time to step into the CFB Prop Shop as we cook up our favorite College Football player props for Week 8 from all across the country. Last week was an absolute thriller with all the big upsets across the nation. Big players showed up in big games. The question now: who will be those big players this week?
Hogan Hansen Over 17.5 Receiving Yards (-112)
If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it. That’s the saying, right? Well, three weeks in a row in the CFB Prop Shop, we’ve targeted a tight end against the Indiana Hoosiers. We’re three for three! So, we’ll test our luck and run it back this week. Indiana has struggled against the tight end, allowing some big games. It hasn’t always been big games, but we didn’t need a big day out of Nick Roberts last week, and he got us just enough.
This Michigan team has been a mess; we aren’t sure who’s playing quarterback, but it doesn’t really matter. They should be battling from behind here, and it’ll just take a catch or two for Hansen to hit this. Last time out against Penn State, he racked up 31 receiving yards. Against Minnesota, he caught three passes for 22 yards. That’s what we need this week against the Hoosiers.
Trinidad Chambliss Over 20.5 Rushing Yards (-120)
The Ole Miss Rebels head to Austin, Texas this week to take on a reeling Texas Longhorns team. These Rebels have been throwing their punches this year, and I believe they are live underdogs this week. In order to have a chance to upset the Longhorns, they’ll need a big game from their superstar quarterback Trinidad Chambliss. It’s been tough going for quarterbacks through the air against Texas. Chambliss will need to use his legs.
That’s what Florida’s Tramell Jones Jr. did as the Gators upset Texas last week. Chambliss doesn’t rush a ton every week, but he can when he needs to. Last week in a win against Missouri, Chambliss had 14 yards on the ground. Against Florida, he stacked up 44 rushing yards. In a win over Louisville, it was 60 yards on nine attempts.
Messiah Birch Over Rushing Yards
This is something I don’t typically do, but Birch is too good of a bet this week to not include in this article. The problem for the Buffalo running back, we don’t have a number to put on him just yet. However, whatever his rushing number ends up being, I’ll be playing the over on Saturday. The 5’9” senior has been terrorizing rushing defenses this season. Over his last four games, Birch has run for 561 yards.
That includes games of 172, 137, 106, and 146 yards. He’s facing one of the worst rushing defenses in the country. Bowling Green allows 201 yards per game on the ground. Watch for Birch’s numbers to drop, and smash!
