Week 6 of NFL action is here. Big names in betting & fantasy football are missing this week, coming back this week, or, they are still up in the air. Let’s get you caught up on the latest NFL injury report for the most important players when it comes to betting & fantasy football for Week 6.
Green Light: Cleared to Play
Falcons QB – Michael Penix Jr. (ribs)
Eagles WR – DeVonta Smith (hamstring, toe)
Eagles WR – Dontayvion Wicks (hamstring)
Chargers WR – Quentin Johnston (chest)
Chargers WR – Ladd McConkey (foot)
Ravens WR – Zay Flowers (toe)
Browns WR – KC Concepcion (concussion)
Jets TE – Kenyon Sadiq (concussion)
Raiders TE – Brock Bowers (knee)
Panthers WR – Jalen Coker (quad)
Kicking it off with good news first! Michael Penix will be back for the Falcons. A sigh of relief for Falcons fans who watched Tua Tagovailoa Sunday night. DeVonta Smith and Wicks are the only good news Eagles fans will get this week. I’d avoid both if possible with Tanner McKee starting. Quentien Johnston will be playing; if you trust him at this point, that’s on you. Same goes for his teammate Ladd McConkey. Zay Flowers is a good play even with Tyler Huntley. KC Concepcion has been cleared from concussion protocol. Kenyon Sadiq has also been cleared from the protocol for the Jets. Brock Bowers is good to go against Buffalo; he’s always a reliable option. Jalen Coker is good to go off the Panthers bye; the way he and Young have been playing I wouldn’t hesitate to use him.
Yellow Light: Questionable
Colts TE – Tyler Warren (groin)
Cowboys WR – CeeDee Lamb (thigh)
Saints WR – Chris Olave (illness)
Raiders RB – Ashton Jeanty (foot)
Patriots WR – AJ Brown (ankle)
Patriots RB – TreVeon Henderson (ankle)
49ers WR – Mike Evans (rib, Achilles)
Commanders WR – Stefon Diggs (hamstring)
Steelers WR – DK Metcalf (illness)
Saints RB – Alvin Kamara (back)
Ravens WR – Ja’Kobi Lane (wrist)
Bears QB – Caleb Williams (hamstring)
Steelers RB – Rico Dowdle (toe)
Bills WR – DJ Moore (shoulder)
Browns RB – Quinshon Judkins (ankle)
Tyler Warren popped up Friday on the practice report with a groin issue. He’ll be one to watch going into Sunday; if he plays, I’d start him. Ceedee Lamb looks like he should be good to go; he’s a plug-and-play for fantasy. Chris Olave has been dealing with an illness but is expected to play Sunday. Ashton Jeanty should be good to go in a game with a lot of expected scoring against Buffalo. AJ Brown will be a Sunday decision by Mike Vrabel; if they play him, I’d trust him in my fantasy lineups. For his teammate Henderson, your guess is as good as mine. His injury looked like he’d be out for weeks, then he was practicing and may play. He’s hit and miss as it is; I’d probably avoid him unless you have limited options.
Mike Evans is a tough one to read this week. He hasn’t practiced, but he’s a true vet and could certainly play. The problem is it’s a Monday night game. If he plays, I’d want to play him, but have a backup plan. Stefon Diggs looks like he’ll be a go, but that’s also the Monday night game. DK Metcalf was a Friday addition with an illness. Something to keep an eye on going into Sunday. Alvin Kamara is suffering from being old (I feel you, brother!); he’ll be a hard one to trust this weekend.
Ja’Kobi Lane is questionable to return from his IR stint. No Lamar Jackson gives me a little pause, but the kid showed he was talented in the small sample size we got. He’s a great bench stash in your fantasy league if he’s floating around on waivers. Caleb Williams looks like he’ll be a go for the Bears. Green light on playing him if he’s out there. Rico Dowdle is still questionable, but he had a full practice both Thursday and Friday. The biggest hope here is that he doesn’t cut into Jaylen Warren’s performance. I’d be surprised if DJ Moore plays, but if he does, I’d also be hesitant to play him. Quinshon Judkins appeared like he wouldn’t play, but practicing Friday gave a glimmer of hope. He’ll be one to watch; if you have a solid pivot, it might not be a bad idea.
Red Light: Out
Eagles QB – Jalen Hurts (blood clot)
Texans RB – David Montgomery (groin)
Jets RB – Breece Hall (quad)
Jets WR – AD Mitchell (finger)
Ravens QB – Lamar Jackson (ankle)
Chiefs WR – Rashee Rice (hamstring, knee)
Eagles RB – Saquon Barkley (hamstring)
Eagles RB – Will Shipley (foot) placed on IR
Cardinals RB – Jeremiyah Love (ankle)
Bears RB – Kyle Monangai (thumb, toe)
Scary situation for Jalen Hurts having a blood clot in his leg. The good news is it’s superficial, so hopefully not a long-term deal. But it’s another blow to a very beat-up Eagles team. David Montgomery won’t play in the London game, so make sure he’s subbed out of your lineups. Woody Marks should get more reps, but the Texans will likely struggle to run the ball this week. The Jets will be without Breece Hall and AD Mitchell again this week. They have a tough matchup with a Patriots team that has beaten them in 18 of the last 20 games.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss another week with his ankle injury. Tyler Huntley proved last week he can step in and do the job. Rashee Rice will miss this week; this is setting up to be a good game for Travis Kelce. The Eagles are down to Damien Pierce as the guy this week. With Tanner McKee starting for the team, I’d probably avoid this team as much as possible. With Jeremiyah Love out, Tyler Allgeier becomes an interesting player this week. Kyle Monongai will miss another week; stock up on DeAndre Swift.
