Philadelphia Phillies vs Atlanta Braves

The top two teams in the National League East Division kick off their Wild Card series tomorrow, as rivals the Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves go at it. With Chris Sale on the bump for Atlanta, I’m going with a Brave to homer, not a Phillie.

That Brave player would be centerfielder Michael Harris II. The former Rookie of the Year hit a career-high 26 bombs this season, and we can get a better payout on him than going with the obvious choice, Matt Olson.

Chicago White Sox vs Houston Astros

Start Time: 5:00 PM EST

I’m heading to the American League for my other play, with the Chicago White Sox miraculously playing in the postseason against the perennial-good Houston Astros. And my rationale for this pick is almost the same as the Harris one.

I’m going with the Astros’ Jeremy Pena, who also had a (tied for) career-high in home runs this season with 22. That includes two bombs in the second-to-last game of the regular season.
