College football week 2 reaction
The College Football Experience (@TCEonSGPN) on the Sports Gambling Podcast Network continues its 2026 season coverage with a full college football week 2 reaction show. Pick Dundee aka (@TheColbyD) and Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) run it back with a guest. Former Big 12 College Experience host Troy Chewning (@Troychewning) joins the booth. The guys break down Ohio State and Texas, Oklahoma State getting buried by Oregon, the Cy-Hawk rivalry, and the disputed flag in Texas Tech vs Oregon State. They hit BYU over Arizona, Alabama over Kentucky, and Ohio’s four-overtime survival of Jacksonville State.
Did Texas really climb all the way back from down 20 at Ohio State? Was the pass interference call that doomed Oregon State the worst flag of the weekend? How does Oklahoma State put up nearly 600 yards and still get run out of Stillwater? Is Michigan a defense-only team after that 17-10 win over Oklahoma? Did Iowa State cover the Cy-Hawk number even in a loss? And can a game really need four overtimes in a monsoon like Ohio and Jacksonville State? We talk it all and more on this episode of The College Football Experience.
Colby Dant had nine televisions going by Saturday night. He still couldn’t keep up. This college football week 2 reaction covers a full slate of fourth-quarter chaos. Colby Dant and Ryan McIntyre bring back Troy Chewning, the former host of the Big 12 College Experience. Together, the three of them work through all of it. There’s a long list of blowouts and near-misses to compare first. This crew never runs out of things to argue about.
Start with Ohio State and Texas. Texas trailed by 20 in the fourth quarter. Then it somehow turned into a game, helped by a missed Ohio State field goal. Texas also recovered three of its own fumbles along the way. Colby had Ohio State plus 1.5 and cashed it. But neither side looked like a finished product. Meanwhile, the Cy-Hawk trophy stayed in Iowa City. Iowa State covered the plus-14.5 anyway and made the Hawkeyes sweat the whole way. Troy argued that says more about Iowa’s offense than anyone wants to admit.
Out in Stillwater, Troy’s Oklahoma State put nearly 600 yards on Oregon to the Ducks’ 280. But the final score sat closer than that gap. Oregon leaned on a couple of pick-sixes to survive. Michigan and Oklahoma went the other way entirely. That one was a 17-10 grind Michigan won on defense, not style points. From there, Texas Tech survived a game it never controlled. Oregon State led 24-21 with six minutes left. Then a disputed pass interference call swung it. The guys spent a while arguing the flag never should have flown. Finally, Troy still wasn’t over it, even hours later.
After that, the show turns into Group of Five and FCS mayhem. BYU got past Arizona without much drama. Alabama pulled away from a Kentucky team that had the Tide in real trouble into the second half. Ohio needed four overtimes and a monsoon to beat Jacksonville State 29-27. Liberty also trailed Gardner-Webb most of the afternoon before escaping 24-23 at the end. Both finishes had Colby shaking his head at how close the weekend came to a different set of headlines.
On the other side of the slate, Auburn covered comfortably over Southern Miss. SMU blew out UC Davis without much resistance. North Texas handled UNLV 44-6, a laugher that barely got a second mention. Meanwhile, North Dakota State beat Air Force despite the Falcons outgaining them. That’s the kind of scoreline that makes Ryan bring up FCS respect every single week. Duke also edged Illinois 31-27 in a game that stayed live into the fourth quarter. Kansas State handled Washington State 34-7 without much fuss.
Indiana kept rolling with a 55-0 win over Howard. West Virginia matched that pace against UT Martin, winning 52-7. Maryland closed out its own blowout, beating UConn 38-14 to stay unbeaten. But none of those results carried the drama of the afternoon’s headline games. The guys said as much before wrapping the show. Finally, week 2 gave this group enough for a full hour. Troy’s return also made the argument sharper than it’s been in a while.
