MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC 330
UFC 330: Makhachev vs Garry
Start Time: 5:30 PM EST
I normally avoid betting on aged fighters well past their prime, especially ones like Vicente Luque who had a brain issue a few years ago. Yet, I find myself in on a couple of grizzled vets on the prelims, including the aforementioned Luque.
It’s all based on the matchup. Tresean Gore’s nickname, ‘Mr. Vicious’, is actually a misnomer, because he has no finishing skills on the feet (vicious seems to indicate someone bringing the violence). While Gore’s good on the ground, so is Luque, and the Brazilian-American is much more dangerous on the feet, as well as being far more experienced despite only being three years older than Gore.
If Gore isn’t going to batter Luque on the feet, which I don’t see happening, then Luque is more than a live dog in his matchup.
