Two of the league’s fat pocket teams kick off their last series of the season tomorrow night in Queens, as the Los Angeles Dodgers visit the New York Mets. The Dodgers swept the three-game series played earlier this year on the Left Coast, outscoring the Mets 14-3 in the process.
What can we say about these two teams? The Dodgers are the Dodgers, the best team in the league in terms of win-loss record and in advanced stat terms. And the Mets? Well, they’re the Mets, meaning they’re disappointing and underachieving.
The fact this game is played at Citi Field isn’t even much of a benefit for the home side, as they are only 21-28 at home, while the Dodgers are 34-19 playing away from Los Angeles, the best road mark in the majors. However, the fact that it is on the road, and that the disappointing (there’s that word again) Roki Sasaki is on the hill for the Dodgers means we get a rare decent moneyline to get in on for Los Angeles.
