2026 Heisman Trophy Futures Bets According To CFB 27
The Set Up
Before I jump into who you should place your college football national championship futures bets based on CFB 27, let’s talk about the setup real quick. I did not want random league injuries created by a video game to skew results. Yes, injuries happen in real life. However, injuries are so unpredictable, and I wasn’t sure how often CFB27 would throw injuries in.
CFB27 also gives you two roster options. I went with the active roster. From everything I read, it is supposed to give you the most up-to-date roster. It imports it each time, indicating it’s not just the standard roster that the game came with (even though the game is very new).
I set the quarter length to be 15 minutes. None of this five-minute, quickened version of the game. I wanted the simulation to be as close to a real football game as possible, factoring in possible fatigue at different points throughout the season.
Finally, I took control of a defensive coordinator spot on a team that was 0 stars, and changed nothing else. So we have no injuries, fifteen-minute quarters, and active rosters to base our CFB26 outcomes on. The next step was easy. I just simulated to the end of the season and used that for the results on who the 2026 College Football National Champions were to place our futures bets on, based on the results from CFB 27.

The Top Five Heisman Trophy Candidates

Different from last year’s simulations, this year only has four final candidates instead of five. Here are the four who were up for the Heisman Trophy to consider placing bets on.
Jayden Maiava (+2500)
USC Quarterback Jayden Maiava has a strong case to become the 2026 Heisman Trophy winner. He had a really nice 2025 debut under Lincoln Riley. Maiava led the Big 10 in passing yards with 3,711 while throwing 24 touchdowns. He rated very high in efficiency metrics, including top-10 in big-time throws and yards per attempt.
Riley runs a high-powered, pro-style offense that should help Maiava continue to put up big numbers. The continuity of the system will help him. Not to mention, he has a very talented supporting cast.
Heisman Trophy voters love quarterbacks who dominate volume stats in big conferences, and Maiava can do just that. With improved ball security, we should see him throw for over 4,000 passing yards. He’s +2500 to win it, and that’s worth a nice sprinkle for a potential nice payout.
Trinidad Chambliss +1300
Next up as a potential Heisman Trophy winner to place your bet on is Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss. He had a dynamic breakout year last year. After taking over as the starting quarterback, the dual-threat gun-slinger threw for 3,937 yards, 22 touchdowns, and just three interceptions. He also ran for 527 yards and eight rushing touchdowns. Those are Heisman numbers.
He can create plays with both his arm and his legs. Chambliss also showed a ton of poise under pressure and big-play ability. With a full offseason in the system under his belt, entering his last year, Chambliss should be an early favorite.
John Mateer +2500
The next 2026 Heisman Trophy candidate is Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer. His current odds are +2500, making him a juicy underdog. Last year, Mateer finished with 2,885 passing yards, ran for 431 rushing yards, and had 22 total touchdowns.
He was an early Heisman favorite last year. However, a thumb injury slowed his momentum with the voters. It’s hard to win when you’re not healthy. Now he looks to be a great bounce-back candidate. Oklahoma brings in a stronger run game, plus Mateer’s continuity with the offense.
Much like Chambliss, his dual-threat ability will make it hard not to notice him. If Ole Miss or Oklahoma win the SEC, it feels almost guaranteed their signal-callers will win the Heisman.
Cam Vaughn – NA
The last candidate according to EA Sports CFB 27 doesn’t have any odds on the books. If you can find him or get pricing from a book, he’s truly a dark-horse candidate. The wide receiver has transferred from Jacksonville State to West Virginia to Miami.
Now at Miami, he enters the best offense he’s been a part of. If he’s able to get close to 1500 yards and double-digit touchdowns and Miami is in the Top 10, he’ll be considered by voters. However, it seems like it’s very difficult for wide receivers to win the Heisman. I feel more comfortable sprinkling a little on the quarterbacks.
The Heisman Trophy Winner
The winner of the 2026 Heisman Trophy according to EA Sports CFB 27 is Trinidad Chambliss. At +1300, he has the sixth-best odds to win the Heisman. Chambliss has both the arm talent and running athleticism to be a big-time playmaker.
He also has the stage to get noticed, playing in the competitive SEC. If Chambliss can put Ole Miss in a good position to push for the postseason, voters will have to give him credit. This is where the game was slightly off last year. However, at +1300, it’s worth a sprinkle, especially when we know he’s got the talent to get it done.
