Daily NBA Player Props – May 20th
Victor Wembanyama – Over 14.5 Rebounds (+120)
After the game he had in Game 1, I was wondering how high the books would go with this projection. The answer? Not high enough. And before you consider this an overreaction to a big Game 1, take a look a what he did in the series with the Timberwolves. He grabbed at least 15 rebounds in four of the six games in that series. The only two games in which he came in under were the Game 6 blowout where he played reduced minutes and the one he was ejected from.
Chet Holmgren – Over 1.5 Three-Pointers (+133)
Holmgren wasn’t a big part of the Thunder offense in Game 1, which make a lot of sense. With Wembanyama protecting the rim, a lot of the work that the Gonzaga product does is null and void. However, of the seven shots the big man took, four of them were from beyond the arc. That’s a trend I can see continuing in this series as he tries to avoid the defensive juggernaut. Plus, he’s already 6-3 against this line in this postseason.
Jalen Williams – Over 17.5 Points (-110)
I’m a bit surprised to see Williams’ number all the way down here. He’s scored at least 18 points in each of the three playoff games he’s played. While the hamstring continues to be a concern, he assuaged a lot of those concerns with 26 in Game 1. Not only did he easily hit this over, but he did so before any of the overtime periods – scoring 21 in regulation.
