Three rounds have come and gone just outside the Philadelphia area, and Aronimink has absolutely proven itself as a worthy PGA Championship venue. The course has struck a really strong balance throughout the week. We’ve seen enough birdie opportunities when the weather cooperates, but we’ve also watched poor shots get punished quickly whenever players drift out of position.
That’s exactly what you want from a major championship.
PGA Championship Round 4 Bets
More than anything, the greens have been the true defense of the golf course. Players have been able to survive from tee to green at times, but converting putts and handling the subtle movement around these surfaces has been a completely different challenge. It has made for some incredible viewing over the first three days.
Looking ahead to Sunday, conditions appear like they may finally ease up a bit. The wind is expected to be lighter throughout the day, which should make this the most scoreable setup we’ve seen all week from start to finish.
Because of that, I’m leaning heavily into players who are consistently finding fairways and pairing that with quality iron play. If someone gets hot with the putter on top of that profile, they could absolutely make a charge from behind.
Rickie Fowler Top 20 -120
Rickie Fowler currently sits tied for 23rd at 1-under par, and I really like what I’m seeing statistically from him heading into the final round.
The biggest thing has been the driver.
Rickie has been extremely accurate off the tee all week, and on a golf course where positioning matters significantly, that becomes a huge advantage. He has also been gaining strokes on approach, which is another key signal for me heading into Sunday.
The form itself shouldn’t be surprising either.
Just last week at Quail Hollow, Fowler put together a really strong weekend performance that eventually led to a runner-up finish. Are Quail Hollow and Aronimink identical tests? Not necessarily. But Quail also hosted a PGA Championship recently, and there are similarities in the type of disciplined ball striking required to contend.
More importantly, Rickie simply looks comfortable right now.
The swing appears repeatable, the confidence is growing, and he should still have plenty left in the tank physically heading into Round 4. On a softer scoring day where players can make a move with quality iron play, this feels like an excellent spot for Fowler to work his way inside the top 20.
Jon Rahm Outright +460
I absolutely love what Jon Rahm is doing around the greens this week, and I think that skill is going to become even more valuable as pressure builds late on Sunday.
His short game has been elite through three rounds, but the encouraging part is that it’s not the only thing working. Rahm is gaining strokes across every major category right now, which is exactly the profile you want entering the final round of a major championship.
Since LIV Golf launched, we’ve consistently seen at least one LIV player seriously contend in majors each season, and this feels like Rahm’s moment.
The “Spanish hands” around the greens are going to save him repeatedly whenever he gets slightly out of position, and we already know he has the pedigree to handle the pressure of chasing down a major championship on Sunday afternoon.
At the current number, there’s still value on Rahm heading into the final round.
