The back-and-forth Eastern Conference Second Round series between the Montreal Canadiens and the Buffalo Sabres is down to a best-of-three, with Game 5 going down tomorrow night in the Queen City. The Sabres saved their season by squeaking out a 3-2 win on the road in Game 4 to knot the series up at two.
And I think Buffalo is going to put the Habs on the brink of elimination tomorrow night by winning in front of their home fans. Each team has now won a game in their opponent’s barn, but I think the home-ice advantage begins to kick in now (or at least the law of averages). The Sabres had the fourth-best home mark in the league this season, going 26-10-5 in Buffalo, but are only 2-3 during the postseason. The mean is bound to be reverted to.
