Daily NBA Player Props – May 8th
VJ Edgecombe – Over 13.5 Points (+100)
Edgecombe has been pretty comfortably covering this number for the bulk of the postseason. He’s hit the number in three of his last four games and it putting up 16.5 points per game in that span. We obviously still don’t know what to do about the giant elephant in the room that is Joel Embiid’s injury status, but whether he plays or not shouldn’t effect Edgecombe’s ability to score – especially in their first home game of the round.
Victor Wembanyama – Over 12.5 Rebounds (-116)
We’ve seen a decent drop off in terms of the scoring for Wemby in this series, but what he’s lacking in hoops, he’s making up in boards. In each of the two games against the Timberwolves, he’s pulled down 15 rebounds. His ability to take over a game with one facet like that seems to be unmatched. The line isn’t even close to the numbers he’s already putting up. Even if he drops off a bit here, we should still hit that figure.
Julian Champagnie – Over 2.5 Three-Pointers (+158)
In Game 2 of this series, Stephon Castle let us down by only shooting once from beyond the arc. We’ll have to pivot to his teammate, Julian Champagnie, who seems to be getting the volume we can trust in this game. He has taken at least six three-pointers in each of his last three games and is now 3-0 against this mark in that span. Heading on the road shouldn’t effect the output here, so look for another three or more.
