We’re back at Quail Hollow for the 2026 Truist Championship, and this is one of those weeks where you really can’t fake it. This course demands legit ball striking. It’s long, it plays tough, and if you don’t have your game coming in, you’re getting exposed fast.
I brought on Byron Lindeque from Fantasy Golf Degenerates to help break it all down, and the big takeaway is this: lean into guys who thrive in difficult scoring conditions and have strong course history here.
At the top of the board, it’s hard not to look at Xander Schauffele. I’m personally leaning Top 10, but if you want to get aggressive, this feels like a week he could win. Same goes for Matt Fitzpatrick, who’s been playing incredible golf and fits this course perfectly.
But where I’ve really been making money lately is placement bets and round one angles.
Si Woo Kim Top 20 immediately stood out to me. I was honestly shocked he wasn’t showing up on the most tipped boards this week. It feels like we’re not all watching the same golf. His iron play has been too strong to ignore.
I’m also sticking with my usual plays: Jason Day and Jordan Spieth Top 20 after Round 1. These are guys I trust to show up early, even if they don’t always close.
Other looks I like: Rickie Fowler Top 20, Kurt Kitayama Top 20, and Sam Burns Top 20. There’s also some sneaky upside with Sepp Straka if you’re playing one-and-done.
And if you want a fun sweat, Jonathan Vegas as a first round leader is a great longshot.
As always, I’m keeping it simple this week. Good ball strikers. Smart placement bets. Get in, get out, and don’t overthink it.
