I’m back for Episode 9 of Ask Smalls Anything, and Producer Ryan is here once again to keep the show from becoming a fully unsupervised group chat. This week, we answer listener questions, rant about sports, talk New York City survival, and somehow end up debating whether getting bit by a rat is better than getting bit by a snake.
We start with the very important business of asking people to review the podcast, then get into adulting, old-school parenting, dial-up internet, landlines, mean girls, and why my mom might need to come on for a Mother’s Day cameo. Ryan also brings a rant about being exhausted from constantly “working on yourself,” which leads us into therapy, self-improvement, and whether we can all just be finished products already.
Then I get into my rant about NBA Playoff ticket prices, because sports are supposed to bring people together, not financially ruin normal fans who just want to scream at a basketball game. We also talk about Photo Finish Live digital horse racing, NYC subway advice, ranking the days of the week during the NFL offseason, and whether a listener should go visit an old work crush.
Later, we get into Yankees game music, my genius “we’re walking here” sound drop idea, the best Yankee Stadium snacks, Gatorade colors, LeBron and the Lakers, Adderall, and the most important question in America: rat bite or snake bite?
Episode 9 has sports, chaos, life advice, and Producer Ryan enabling all of it.
