Ottawa Senators vs Carolina Hurricanes
Start Time: 7:30 PM EST
There were no surprises in the first game of this Eastern Conference Playoffs First Round game, as one of the league’s top teams, the Carolina Hurricanes, shut out the Ottawa Senators in front of their home fans in Raleigh, 2-0.
The Hurricanes are now 2-1 against the Senators this season, including the regular season, going 2-0 on their home ice. That also is no surprise, as Carolina had the league’s best home record this season, posting a 29-10-2 mark on their home ice at the Lenovo Center. They’ve now won four straight games at home and six of their last seven.
With the second-most potent offense in the NHL this season, and the fifth-best defense/goaltending, the Hurricanes are a legit Stanley Cup contender. I don’t see them getting tripped up at home tomorrow against the Senators, so Carolina on a very nice moneyline is my best bet for Monday.
