It’s ‘numbered event’ time again in the UFC, with UFC 326 going down this Saturday in the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. It’s not the strongest card on paper, but two fan favorites battle in the main event. For my MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC 326, I’m in on a former UFC champion fighting on the prelims. Let’s get it on, c’mon!

MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC 326
UFC 326: Holloway vs Oliveira 2
Start Time: 5:00 PM EST
Life in the cage has not gone well for Cody Garbrandt ever since he won the UFC Bantamweight Championship off of Dominick Cruz at UFC 207 in December 2016. He immediately lost three straight fights after reaching his career-defining moment, and has gone 3-7 since winning the belt.
However, I do think he’s going to win on Saturday against China’s Xiao Long. The competition level between the two is a huge gulf, with Garbrandt having a decided advantage in the level of opponents on his resume. Plus, neither guy grapples too much in fights, and in a standup battle, Garbrandt will be the much harder hitter of the two. I’ll take a flyer on the former champ as a live dog.
