Winter Olympics Best Bet For Sunday (February 15th): Women’s Alpine Skiing Predictions
Women’s Giant Slalom Finals
Start Time: 4:00 AM EST
I hit my bet on the men’s giant slalom finals (thank you, Lucas Pinheiro Braathen) on Saturday, now I’m turning my attention to the women’s event. The big story heading into this competition is whether American Mikaela Shiffrin can end her eight-year Olympic drought and win a medal.
But I’m not concerned whether Shiffrin can get the job done or not, because I’m not betting on her. Instead, I’m turning my attention to an Italian, coming off an injury-plagued year, who already won a gold medal these games.
That would be 35-year-old Federica Brignone, who won her first-ever gold medal in the Super-G a couple of days ago. While I’m not predicting Brignone to repeat the feat in her other primary discipline, the giant slalom, I do predict she will find her way to another podium finish. And we’ll find our way to another plus money hit.
Best Bet: Federica Brignone to win a medal (+110)
