Brazilian Lucas Pinheiro Braathen is on the verge of history heading into the finals, looking to become not just the first Brazilian in history to podium in the Winter Olympics, but the first South American as well.
And I think he’s going to do it. The 25-year-old, who competed in the 2022 Winter Olympics for Norway (he has dual citizenship), is entering this competition on a roll, having come in second in the last three stops on the World Cup giant slalom tour.
It doesn’t matter to me if Pinheiro Braathen comes in first, second, or third tomorrow in Italy, just as long as he makes history and makes us almost double our money.
