When possible, it’s always a good idea to bet on home country athletes to win medals in the Olympic Games. The host country tends to always end up near the top of the medal board – look no further than this year, as Italy finds itself with an Olympic-best 17 medals thus far. Tomorrow would be one of those occasions, as the women’s snowboard cross finals go down in Livigno, Italy.
That’s because the reigning champion of this event just so happens to be Italian – Michela Moioli. The 30-year-old won gold at last year’s world championship, and also ended up at the top of the podium at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. The ‘been there, done that’ factor, as well as competiting at home, will both be advantages for her.
And the best part is we’re getting 3.5 times our money on Moioli.
