Daily NBA Player Props – February 6th
Trey Murphy III – Over 22.5 Points (-103)
You just have to love how hot Murphy looks over his last couple of games. On Wednesday night, in Milwaukee, Murphy hit 12 three-pointers en route to a 44-point showing. While the three-pointer performance was a bit uncharacteristic, he did drop 27 just the game before against a surging Charlotte Hornets squad. Murphy and the Pelicans travel to Minnesota for a date with the Timberwolves on Friday, who are struggling on defense. They’ve allowed 125.7 points per game over their last three, which should open up 23 for Murphy.
Nikola Vucevic – Over 6.5 Rebounds (-119)
I understand that a new home can make anyone uneasy on the player props, but Vucevic is exactly what the Celtics have needed. They have had poor rebounding play all year from anyone not named Jaylen Brown. They seemingly went to get Vucevic to take that stress off of their shooter and allow him to play more on the outside. Brown had been over this number in eight straight. Vucevic has been over in 15 of his last 17. Given a better situation with more support and at least a share of Brown’s rebounds coming over, Vucevic should breeze right by this number.
Ausar Thompson – Over 5.5 Rebounds (-114)
While the Pistons welcome the Knicks to Little Caesars Arena on Friday, you still have to love this prop right here. Despite the Knicks being one of the better rebounding teams this year, this is a comically low number for Thompson. He’s been over this mark in four straight and is averaging 7.8 in that stretch of games. Additionally, Jalen Duran went down with a knee injury on Thursday night, which should lead to more rebounding opportunities for Thompson.
