Daily NBA Player Props – December 21st
Jalen Johnson – Over 10.5 Rebounds (-130)
There’s a little bit of chalk in this play, but Johnson has been all over the boards lately. He has gone for at least 11 rebounds in eight of his last nine games. His monthly average for December is 12.3 and he really isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. He’ll be looking to pull down that many again at home against Chicago. The Bulls are in the bottom third of the league in terms of rebounding percenatage, which should make this even easier.
Jabari Smith Jr. – Over 15.5 Points (-107)
Smith Jr. went off for 22 points on Saturday when he went to Denver. That’s become the standard for him though – who is now 5-1 against this mark in his last six games. Doing the same in Sacramento shouldn’t be much of an issue. They rank 26th in points allowed on the season with 121.9 per game. Smith came in under 16 points the last time he played the Kings, but that was before his big run of scoring. Plus, he was only 1.5 points short in that one. I think with the roll he’s on, we can assume he’ll be two points better.
Michael Porter Jr. – Over 25.5 Points (-110)
The projections don’t seem to want to recognize just how good Michael Porter Jr. has been lately. In the month of December, he’s posted a 29.5 points per game average and is 5-1 against this line. On top of that, it hasn’t been close in many of them. He’s topped 33 points in four of the six games this month as well. The Raptors are tough on defense, but someone has to score on this Nets roster and I feel like it’ll be Porter Jr.
