MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – November 1

Sure, there were only four total runs scored in Game 6, but we’re in on the YRFI for the last game of the year. The main reason is how active the bats have been early in the game during this series. In all of the previous six games there has been a run scored in the first two innings. The teams have come out swinging and looking to make an early statement, and I can’t imagine that Game 7 will be any different than that.

Another reason I like the YRFI here is the fact that we have a much weaker pitching matchup than Friday night. The Dodgers still haven’t named their starter for the game. Signs seem to point to Shohei Ohtani, who gave up four runs in 6.0 innings last game. That includes a dinger to Vladimir Guerrero Jr, who he’ll face in the first inning here. Meanwhile the Blue Jays are going with Max Scherzer, who hasn’t really thrown that much in the last month. In October, he got just two starts and carried a 5.19 ERA.

With those two on the bump and the bats going the way they are, I love the idea of a first inning run here.

NRFI/YRFI Bet for November 1: Yes (-125)
