Micah Parsons Questionable to Debut With Packers on Sunday

The Green Bay Packers may have to wait a bit longer before unleashing their new weapon on the rest of the NFL. All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons, whom the Packers acquired from the Dallas Cowboys just last week, has been listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions.

The 26-year-old defensive standout hasn’t seen any action since the end of last year’s Cowboys season, as a bad back and a very public contract dispute kept him out of all of this summer’s training camp and preseason games for Dallas.

“We finished the [steroid] pack, and hopefully that works plus treatment to get me back to 100,” Parsons stated on Thursday.

Parsons did hit the field, in a limited capacity, with Green Bay this week, making it through four practices.

“He’s looked limited,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur admitted before today’s action, “But he’s done a nice job in that regard.”

But whenever Parsons is given the go-ahead to get into a game, the Packers are ready to use him to his fullest potential.

“I have a lot of drawings packed away for when he is ramped up and ready to go,” says Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley. “But for now it’s just kind of getting a glimpse of what [it] is going to be and trying to figure out early what he can do best, what he can do right now, and what gives our team the best chance to have success.”

Degenerate Spin: Parsons should be a game-changer for the Packers this season, so obviously, you’ll want to monitor this situation before betting the Packers as a -1.5 point favorite over the Lions this week. Or, if you expect he’s going to play, pound that line before it moves in the wrong direction.
