Phoenix Mercury vs Los Angeles Sparks
Start Time: 10:00 PM EST
The Phoenix Mercury head to La La Land tomorrow to face the Los Angeles Sparks, which is the preferred place to meet the Sparks. For some reason, the Sparks are only 7-10 at crypto.com Arena (the fact crypto.com isn’t capitalized really annoys me), and they’re 10-8 on the road.
The Sparks are also one of the teams you want to face if you want to light up the scoreboard, as they have the second-worst defense in the league, behind only the lowly Chicago Sky. And that’s in terms of Defensive Rating; the 88.5 points allowed per game by Los Angeles is the highest rate in the league.
So it comes as no surprise that I’m going in on an over on a scoring prop for a Mercury player. That player would be their leading scorer (16.8 ppg), Satou Sabally, who is having another excellent season in her first year in The Valley. Sabally is averaging 24.5 points in her two meetings against the Sparks this season, so I like her over 15.5 points for tomorrow.
