New York Yankees vs St. Louis Cardinals

Am I really betting on the – blech – New York Yankees again tomorrow?! The New York Yankees on the road, starting a pitcher with a 7.27 ERA?! Yes, yes, I am.
While the Yankees have struggled lately (for months?), so have the St. Louis Cardinals, who they’ll be facing tomorrow in an interleague series. Despite how poorly they’ve played, the Yankees still won two more games over the past 30 than the Cardinals have (14 vs 12).
As for that New York starting pitcher with that fugly ERA? That would be Luis Gil, last season’s Rookie of the Year. And he just made his season debut earlier this month due to a lat strain, and has only made a couple of starts (with the second one being much better than the first). I expect him to continue to get closer to his 2024 form with each start.
Even with the home-field advantage, the Yankees are about a run better than the Cardinals tomorrow, according to the advanced stats, making New York my best bet.
