Underdog Fantasy – DFS Picks for July 9
MacKenzie Gore – Lower than 5.5 Strikeouts
You might see this suggestion and be shouting at your phone, “Gore is top five in strikeouts!”. While that is true, the trends do not favor him. He’s actually come in under this projection in three of his last four games. In addition to that, he has a terrible matchup here. The Cardinals are 6th in the majors in limiting strikeouts. Not only do they only strike out 7.74 times per game, but they only fanned four times on Tuesday.
Paige Bueckers – Higher than 18.5 Points
Bueckers has been as advertised for the Wings this season. Not only is she heading to the All-Star Game this year, but she’s started to put up some even bigger numbers lately. Since the beginning of June, she’s scored 20 or more points in 67% of her games. Dallas’ showdown with Chicago is also likely to be a high scoring affair. Both teams rank in the bottom four of the league in terms of points allowed.
Thibault Courtois – Lower than 0.5 1H Goals Allowed
Courtois has started and played all five matches for Real Madrid in the 2025 Club World Cup. In addition to being a solid presence back there, he’s been especially sharp in the first half. In 225 minutes of first half action (plus extra time), he’s only allowed one first half goal and that was on a penalty kick. Paris Saint-Germain is definitely a better offense than what he’s faced prior, but I like his chances to keep this going.
