On Sunday, we cashed on the Spurs Summer League squad as underdogs. Even without their top two picks in the lineup, they carried the day for us. We’re heading to Monday to look for another pick that should cash. Salt Lake City is the home for the action in this one. Here’s my NBA Summer League prediction and best bet for Monday, July 7th.
NBA Summer League Predictions & Preview For July 7th
Memphis Grizzlies vs Utah Jazz
Start Time: 9:00 PM EST
The Grizzlies looked great in their first game of the Summer with a pair of veterans carrying the load. Jaylen Wells and GG Jackson looked great and each tallied over 20 points. Particularly in the early part of the Summer, that’s usually what leads the way for teams.
The problem for the Grizzlies in this one, is that they’ll run into far more veteran savvy on the other side. The Jazz, in their first game, started basically a whole team of regulars. Four players in their starting lineup played significant minutes for the Jazz last year (Brice Sensabaugh, Cody Williams, Kyle Filipowski, and Isaiah Collier). Then they paired those four with a top five pick in Ace Bailey. Even though Bailey looked shakey in his first action, the guys around him carried them to an easy victory.
There’s just too much experience on this Jazz squad to go against them. Even if they rest a bit more than before, they should still cover the two points here easily.
