The most prestigious race in all of cycling gets underway this coming Saturday, July 5th for it’s 112th running. This year’s Tour de France starts in Lille, France and will end on July 27th in Champs-Èlysées, Paris. Let’s take a look at the 2025 Tour de France odds and best bets.
For the first time in five years the entire race will be held inside of the country of France, making it a true “Tour de France.” Slovenian Tadej Pogačat is the defending winner of the event and is the heavy favorite again in 2025. Jonas Vingegaard of Denmark, the 2023 winner finished second to Pogačat last season is next in the outright odds. It’s a long way down to Remco Evenepoel the third driver on the board. The 2025 Tour de France consists of 183 riders across 23 teams. Just five Americans will participate.

2025 Tour de France Odds and Best Bets
Jasper Philipsen Stage 1 Winner (+450)
Stage 1 of the Tour is a relatively flat 185km jaunt around the neighboring districts before returning to Lille. It’s a stage that’ll favor a typical sprinter and at 4.5/1 odds, Philipsen fits the bill. The 27 year old Belgian won three stages in last year’s Tour and four in 2023. He’s considered one of the best sprinters in the world, and offers great value early in the race.

Simon Yates Top 10 Finish (+250)
Yates finished 12th in last year’s Tour and fourth back in 2023. He’s fresh off winning the 108th Giro d’Italia. His main goal in this race will be to help Danish teammate Jonas Vingegaard get to the top step of the podium again in 2025. But the 32-year-old Brit is an established racer who will be in competition for a top 10 at the end of the day, just as he has been the last two seasons.
Sepp Kuss Top American (+300)
Kuss was forced to miss last year’s race while recovering from complications after contracting COVID-19. Now he’s back and ready to go in 2025. The favorite in this group by a long shot is Matteo Jorgensen. But with three summit finishes stacked up in this race, one of the best mountain domestiques in the sport can give him a run for his money. At 3/1, he’s worth a shot.

2 🇬🇧 Adam Yates
3 🇦🇺 Richie Porte
4 🇪🇸 Roberto Heras

Ben O’Connor (+15000)
It’s important to remember that this race can produce upset winners. Three of the last six Tours have been won by a longer shot on the odds board. While we know this is Pogačar’s to lose and Vingegaard shouldn’t be far behind, circumstances could lead to an upset winner. Ben O’Connor could be that guy. He’s great at slipping into breakaways and gaining huge chunks of time. He’ll play the long game. If he can keep up in the mountains, he’ll be dangerous.
