Underdog Fantasy – DFS Picks for June 30th
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. – Higher than 1.5 Hits + runs + RBI
The temperature isn’t the only thing heating up right now, Baby Vlad has been getting hot as well. He’s homered three times in the last eight games. He’s been higher than this projection in four of his last six games as well. However, I don’t just like him because of the streak, I also love the matchup. He’ll face Carlos Rodon on Monday, who he has a great history against. In 12 at bats, he has eight hits with three going for extra bases. Add in three walks, which should help for the runs, and he should clear this easily.
Chase Burns – Higher than 6.5 Strikeouts
I’m shocked that after his debut performance, the projection on Burns’ strikeouts isn’t much higher. In his debut against the Yankees, Burns went 5.0 innings and fanned eight. They also pulled him with just 81 pitches. Now that he’s not in his debut, they might let him go a little deeper. Additionally, he gets the Red Sox here, who are one of the three teams that strike out more than the Yankees. It really wouldn’t surprise me to see him go for double digits here.
Junior Caminero – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases
Speaking of people who are heating up, I love Junior Caminero here. While he faces a tough opposing pitcher in Jacob Lopez, there is a lot to love here. Firstly, he’s picked up two or more bases in eight of his last 11 games. He’s homered in three of his last sevem. Plus, to make matters even better, he gets a lefty on the bump and is playing in a Spring Training park that balls are flying out of.
